Job Description

This position requires the candidate to reside in the Raleigh, NC area. Remote work options are available.

Are you passionate about artificial intelligence and machine learning? We're seeking a driven and curious individual to support the development and enhancement of AI/ML solutions that power innovation across our products and services. In this role, you'll help develop AI/ML systems, convert algorithms into functional code, interpret complex data sets, and customize models to meet real-world needs.

We value a strong sense of ownership—you’ll be expected to see product and project deliverables through to completion. If you thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and are ready to take initiative with light supervision, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills and make a meaningful impact.

• Contribute to the development of AI/ML-powered applications and systems, including multi-agent and agentic systems, that drive optimization, enhance operational efficiency, and enable intelligent decision-making for water and environmental infrastructure.
• Design and develop frameworks for deploying complex models (data-driven, physics-based, hybrid) that serve as the reasoning engine for intelligent agents, enabling them to perceive, plan, and act within our digital solutions.
• Develop and implement the core components of agentic AI to enable systems that can autonomously interact with real-world infrastructure data (e.g., SCADA, IoT, GIS).
• Support the creation of technical specifications, assess data availability and quality, and apply appropriate modeling and agent architecture approaches to meet project goals.
• Participate in the rigorous testing and validation of AI systems, moving beyond traditional model accuracy metrics to evaluate agentic behavior, task success rates, and system reliability in simulated and real-world operational scenarios.
• Create comprehensive documentation for AI/ML systems, including design specifications, functional/technical details for agentic workflows, and data normalization processes to support robust data architecture.
• Write clear and maintainable code documentation using Markdown or similar formats to support ongoing development and deployment of data science software and AI systems.
• Collaborate across product, engineering, and subject matter expert teams; actively research and prototype emerging concepts in agentic AI to ensure Trinnex remains at the forefront of digital water solutions.
• Assist internal stakeholders and customers with data-related technical issues, contributing to the support and evolution of a data infrastructure capable of supporting real-time agentic operations.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in data science and AI development, including model training, validation, testing, algorithm selection, and responsible AI principles.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
