Applications Developer I

Primary Purpose of the Role

Under the guidance of the Manager of Applications and Development or Senior Application Developer; will work with business users across all functional areas, along with the IT team to understand and solve business challenges and opportunities. Includes analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of all applications deployed by Hoffmaster Group Inc.

Essential Job Duties

• Collaborate with the organization to gather solution requirements.

• Design and implement solutions to meet business requirements in collaboration with senior developers.

• Ensure all code is thoroughly tested and signed off by users and developers.

• Document programs and processes.

• Maintain an understanding of the business & business system's functionality.

• Adhere to all development standards and quality guidelines.

• Provide off-hour support.

• Prioritize and manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality results.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Basic understanding of application design and requirement gathering.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

• Able to work both in teams and independently.

• Employ effective troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Work with a positive, customer-focused attitude.

• Business knowledge of a manufacturing/distribution environment preferred.
• Degree in programming, computer science, or equivalent job experience.
