Our technology team is currently seeking an Associate Data Engineer to join our growing team in our Worcester, MA office in a hybrid work arrangement. Â
This is a full time, except position.
POSITION OVERVIEW: 
Are you passionate about data and eager to develop your skills in a collaborative environment? Join our team as an Associate Data Engineer and work alongside experienced professionals to analyze, access, and obtain data to support business needs.  Data engineering is the aspect of data science that focuses on practical applications of data collection and analysis.  This role primarily will become proficient with all internal & external data produced and consumed by THG.  The engineer will understand where the data is, basic data models and architecture, how to access and obtain data and how to manipulate and work with data to produce output – which may be reports, datasets or self-service reports.  The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, adaptable, and composed collaborator that can learn quickly.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Work alongside your peers on the Data Engineering and Platforms team on varied and challenging projects.
- Learn and utilize various Azure resources for data engineering
- Learn and understand how to process structured and unstructured data.
- Be expected to contribute to database development, relational and non-relational.
- Be expected to contribute data pipeline development and overall data solutioning.
- Gain a foundational understanding of organizational data structures and business partner requests.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- 0-2 years related experience and a bachelor’s degree.  Degrees and/or related experience in Applied Data Science, Data Science, Information and Data Science, Information Management Analytics, Data Mining, Predictive Analytics are most sought-after. Degrees in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems are also preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (ie. US Citizen or Greencard holder)
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret large data sets and extract meaningful insights.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to translate complex data findings effectively.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to identify patterns, trends, and generate data-driven conclusions.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data analysis to ensure reliable results.
- Math Proficiency: Strong numerical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Git, SQL, Python, Azure, and SQL Server are preferred, but not required.
