Associate Engineer

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Engineer, EMC/RF to join our rapidly expanding team in Columbia, MD. As a member of the EMC/RF team, the Associate Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to EMC testing and compliance. The engineer position is also expected to operate to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.This is a non-exempt position.The salary range is $28 - 40 p/hour.

‍Responsibilities

• Closely involved – as a contributing team member – with compliance testing for a variety of EMC compliance projects
• Creation and verification of EMC test templates/procedures
• Learn and maintain knowledge of EMC standards and practices
• Accountable for technical activities of a limited scope and may attain additional responsibilities for release of standard and/or routine data to clients
• Possess the ability to effectively contribute to technical presentations and communications within the engineering discipline
  
  

Skills / Qualifications

• A Bachelors of Science degree in a science or testing related field
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety
• Experience using HW and RF lab equipment, such as:
• Oscilloscope, DC power analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer, Signal Generator and Cellular
• Communication Tester
• Possess a recognized scientific, technical or engineering qualification to a degree level
• Preferred significant field experience leading to comparable engineering knowledge, competencies and skill
• In-depth understanding of testing concepts
• Ability to analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed
• Possess strong computer skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Programing Experience (Python, VEE..) a plus
• Basic Mathematical Skills
