
Associate Mechanical Engineer

Designs, creates, tests and improves new and existing products, systems and services. Engages cross-functionally with other technical / engineering teams to define product requirements, develop concepts, drive production processes, test prototypes and make real time adjustments to improve performance and functionality. Ensures all systems function according to design, technical specifications and cost targets.
Responsibilities
- Quickly learns development concepts, practices and methodology.
- With guidance, performs basic Development duties including Performing design reviews and working with Tools, Development Engineers and others on component development.
- Working with cross-functional disciplines on device bring-up, development & collaborating
- Assisting with design integration.
- Assisting with test development and processes.
- Learns and adheres to company development standards and requirements.
- Assists with special projects as assigned.
- Use hands-on approach for building and evaluating prototypes.
- Periodic travel to manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customers around 5% both domestic and international
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Development Engineering.
- Use mechanical CAD software and business productivity tools including computers and all relevant software.
- Experience model building in a lab, hardware, troubleshooting skills.
- Travel: 5 % - Potential international travel once a year.
- Location: Onsite North Canton, Ohio.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess a high level of oral and written communication, presentation, critical thinking and strategic planning skills
- Injection Molding and Sheetmetal design knowledge
- Mechatronics design knowledge (Mechanical with Electronics or Robotics)
- Design & execute tests and technical report writing.
