
Business Intelligence Developer
Job description
The Business Intelligence Developer creates and implements descriptive analytical reports and dashboards to drive business decisions and strategy. This position completes projects that impact all areas of ArcBest and its subsidiaries on a wide and ever-changing variety of subjects. The Business Intelligence Developer is relied upon by decision makers at all levels to provide timely, accurate, actionable data and reporting for strategic and tactical planning. It is anticipated that over time the candidate will be able to successfully perform all duties below with effective management and training support.

Responsibilities
- Test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and improve performance on business intelligence artifacts.
- Work with stakeholders to document user requirements for data, dashboards, and reports.
- Collaborate with and support business analysts throughout the enterprise on best practice analytics strategies and techniques.
- Analyze user requirements and design functional specifications based on findings for BI solutions and estimate effort needed.
- Provide day-to-day support to business analysts who develop reports on behalf of their departmental colleagues.
- Design, develop, deploy, and document Enterprise BI solutions that leverage common data architecture and data optimization approaches.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
RequirementsEducation:
- Bachelor's Degree preferably with superior academic achievement in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or other relevant field, preferred
Experience:
- Prior experience or coursework in data modeling, requirements analysis, business analysis, data storytelling and visualization, preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, DAX, and Power Query, preferred
Computer Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, SQL and Power BI. Knowledge of relational and multidimensional database designs, warehousing processes and designs, various business intelligence platforms, and software development technologies (Visual Studio preferred).

Other Details
‍Work Hours:
- Expected 40 hours a week Monday through Friday between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position participates in an on-call rotation which could result in irregular work hours on occasion. After six months of employment a compressed work schedule and remote work options may become available.
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal (0-25%)
Compensation:
- This is a salary position paid biweekly.
