Position Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Controls Engineer will design, develop, and implement control systems to automate industrial processes and machinery, ensuring efficient and effective operation, as well as overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards. This role involves coordinating with different departments and optimizing production. This position is located at our facility in Conway, AR.
Responsibilities
- Create control strategies, select appropriate hardware and software (e.g. PLCs and HMIs), and integrate these systems into existing processes
- Program PLCâs (programmable logic controllers) and other automation devices to control machinery and processes
- Diagnose and resolve issues with control systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
- Analyze system performance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety
- Follow all safety protocols and actively engage in safety programs
- Support a culture of continuous improvement
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelorâs degree in engineering, such as Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering, is preferred
- Prior experience in manufacturing is strongly preferred
- Experience in areas such as PLC programming, HMI design, industrial networking, and SCADA systems is strongly desired
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds continuously and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Comfortable with physical tasks including stooping, climbing, crawling, and working at heights or outdoors as needed
Salary and Benefits
- The salary for this position is $75,000-$85,000 . Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
