Data Engineer

This role is on our industry leading credit cards platform.We are currently seeking a Data Engineer for our Cards Technology team in the Charlotte, NC area .

In this role:

You will work with our product, design, and engineering teams to plan, design, and develop customer facing applications for credit cards. We offer an opportunity to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment with people who value their work and who welcome fresh ideas.

·Design and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS.

·Build and maintain systems for collecting, transforming, integrating, and delivering customer data.

·Perform data processing and transformation using technologies such as Apache Spark and various cloud services.

·Explore and evaluate new technologies and architectural patterns.

·Collaborate with agile teams and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies.

·Utilize source control systems effectively and manage CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.

Qualifications:

·Solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field.

·Proficient in Python programming.

·Familiar with Big Data technologies, particularly Apache Spark.

·Hands-on experience building data pipelines using AWS services, Docker/Kubernetes, and Apache Airflow.

·Skilled in working with various data formats, including JSON, Avro, and Parquet.

·Strong command of SQL for data querying and manipulation.

·Quick to adapt to and implement new tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

·AWS Certification

·Hands-on experience with tools and platforms such as Snowflake, PySpark, Apache Airflow, Terraform, Looker, and various AWS services (including EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Glue, and SageMaker)

·Familiar with CI/CD and collaboration tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Jira, and Confluence
