
Electrical Design Engineer
Job description
Responsibilities for this role include developing one-line diagrams and associated drawings that support our electrical safety services for industrial customers. Candidates with a strong foundation in CAD and electrical construction to support our Arc Flash Safety Programs are preferred.

Electrical Design & Drafting:
Develop electrical one-line diagrams to support Arc Flash studies
Create panel layouts and conduit diagrams
Perform CAD drafting and electrical design tasks and assignments (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)
Compile Arc Flash documentation, including equipment IDs and spreadsheet legends
Maintain drawing files and perform quality checks
Project Support & Engineering Coordination:
Coordinate with Project Managers to support documentation and execution of budgets, timelines, test forms, and BOMs
Collaborate with Field Data Collection, Arc Flash Engineers, and Department Leads
Participate in project reviews, construction support, and field verifications
Select appropriate electrical hardware and instrumentation for system applications
Support wiring practices and fieldwork
Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field required
0-10+ years of experience in the industrial electrical industry (candidates with less than 2 years of experience must have relevant education)
Strong CAD proficiency; AutoCAD Electrical experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, customers, and field personnel
Strong attention to detail with accuracy and consistency in technical work
Ability to travel up to 15% as needed
Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional project team
