
Electrical Engineer
Job description
Position Summary: As an Electrical/Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for project-based design of electrical schematics, programming PLC/HMI, and debug of manufacturing equipment from start to finish, as well as manufacturing support through troubleshooting assistance and continuous improvement projects.
Essential Job Functions include:
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs using primarily GE/Emerson and Siemens hardware and software.
- Use AutoCAD Electrical to design and modify electrical machine schematics including 480VAC 3 phase distribution, safety systems, communication wiring, and low voltage signals.
- Support the manufacturing floor through means of troubleshooting and developing & applying continuous improvements projects.
- Support control systems for automated equipment including but not limited to rolling mills, robotic welding cells, presses and deburr machines.
- Work on equipment that use variable frequency drives, servos, vision, hydraulic & pneumatic actuators, and various sensors.
- Implement corrective actions/8D FRM tasks in response to quality alerts.
- Work with a cross-functional engineering and manufacturing team.

* Education/Experience  o Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree from an accredited institution with 0-3 years of professional engineering experience <OR>  o 2-year Technical Degree with a minimum of 5 years applicable experience <OR>  o Journeyman card with a minimum of 3 years applicable experience* Familiarity with AutoCad (2-D)* Previous experience with the design, programming and troubleshooting of robotic machinery is preferred.* Minimum level of experience with Industrial machine control systems to include:  o PLC Programming, Safety controls, high voltage systems, motion control, robotics, vision, etc.* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
