
Electrical Engineer I
Job description
Job Responsibilities:
- Engineer has the ability to lead a small client/client team (1-2 staff), small projects, or portions of a large project utilizing their experience and education in lighting design, power design, and knowledge of NEC and other national standards; as well as solve medium to difficult design challenges that arise on a project. Â Engineer should have a basic understanding of energy codes and how to apply them to power and lighting design with minimal oversight.
- Engineer can work in an independent manner on several project and/or client types with minimal supervision from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
- Engineer should be able to apply their knowledge of NEC and other national standards to most project types, with minimal oversight from a more Senior Engineer or Designer. Â Engineer should have a basic understanding of energy codes and application to power and lighting design with oversight from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
- Engineer should have a basic understanding of photometric calculations, lighting design, fault current and be able to independently select lighting systems and controls for simple projects.
Job Duties:
- Engineer should be good in AutoCAD and/or REVIT. Â Engineer should be able to train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions pertaining to electrical design, NEC, or other national standards.
- Engineer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements, including some basic project management and construction administration functions.
- Engineer will be able to perform quality control of their projects and others, for final review by Engineer of Record.
- Engineer could have direct client contact, unless in a strictly technical role.
- Engineer will work with Electrical Design lead to establish project budgets, if requested, and be able to work within budgets. Â Engineer will also work with Electrical Team lead to ensure projects are financially successful, unless in a strictly technical role for the company.
- Engineer will not be Engineer of Record.
- Engineer should be able to edit specifications for small to medium projects.

Education Requirements: BSEE from an Abet Accredited Engineering Program
Licensure Requirements: Licensed Professional Engineer
