Job description

About Us

At Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI), we are a global leader in vehicle automation solutions. Our technology enables safe, efficient, and scalable automation for industries such as solar, agriculture, construction, landscaping, and more. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, ASI continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in autonomous technology. Our Mission is to help you reach your potential through innovative robotic solutions. We pride ourselves in our core values: Safe, Simple, Transparent, Growth, Humble, and Attention to Detail.

About the Role

We are hiring Electrical Engineers at Levels I through V to join our hardware engineering team in Mendon, Utah. These roles are responsible for the design, integration, and validation of low-voltage electrical systems for autonomous vehicles. Unlike traditional circuit board design roles, this position emphasizes component selection, wire harness design, system integration, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to build robust automation solutions. Candidates will be placed into a level based on experience and skillset. This is a hybrid position that requires three days (Tuesday through Thursday) on-site.

Engineers in this role contribute to a dynamic and growing team where hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, vehicle field testing, and collaboration with mechanical and embedded software teams are key to project success.

Job Duties

Common Responsibilities Across All Levels

  • Design, select, and integrate electrical components for low-voltage vehicle systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed wire harness designs using tools such as Zuken.
  • Perform hardware testing using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and various CAN communication tools.
  • Collaborate with embedded software and mechanical engineering teams to ensure successful integration.
  • Conduct validation using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems and support field deployments.
  • Document your work in alignment with version control processes (e.g., Git, EPDM).
  • Adhere to safety and compliance requirements, contributing to reviews and design validations.

Level I

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Assist in component selection and wire harness layouts with supervision.
  • Execute testing procedures and log results under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participate in HIL validation and field tests with limited autonomy.

Our Story

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. designs and manufactures unmanned vehicle systems, software, and components for a variety of industrial, agricultural, automotive proving ground, and military customers. From small bomb disposal robots to massive mining haul trucks, we have extensive experience automating vehicles of all shapes and sizes with an emphasis on multi-vehicle command and control, mission planning, sensor fusion, obstacle detection & avoidance, tele-operation, and point-and-click ease of use. Autonomous Solutions began as a spin-off company in 2000 from the Center for Self Organizing and Intelligent Systems (CSOIS) at Utah State University (USU). ASI was founded by a group of researchers from the Center in order to take the ideas and technologies developed at the center into the commercial sector. From this beginning, ASI has grown to become one of the largest privately held robotics-focused companies in the world. We employ a team of world class computer, electrical, and mechanical engineers and support staff at our 100 acre proving ground facility in Northern Utah.
