ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the FAA NAS ESS (Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services) contract.  Join our growing team as an Engineer Level 1 in support of the FAA’s Power & Environmental Systems Team.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, Tests, Fabricates and installs FAA approved electrical and power transmission capability modification kits as required to enhance equipment function or replace obsolete equipment.
- Analyzes facility and workstation electrical system power supplies and availability. Makes recommendations as to power system upgrades, modifications and installations.
- Provide technical assistance in the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and services
- Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct testing of equipment and services
- Review program-related documents
- Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and Supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize output.
- Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.
- Will relay any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.
- Analyzes facility and workstation electrical system power supplies and availability. Makes recommendations as to power system upgrades, modifications and installations.
Requirements:
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years.
On-site presence will be as required by the FAA.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Experience working in a team environment
- Coursework in areas including electrical, electronics, signals, analog and digital communications.
- Good written and spoken communication including developing technical documentation
- Ability to pass an FAA background investigation (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required)
- Ability to coordinate efforts with others for the timely completion of projects and deliverables
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program in an Engineering discipline; consideration given to other technical degrees such as computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or chemistry.
- Knowledge and understanding of 3-Phase Power Distribution, Switch Boards, Breakers, Engine Generators, UPS/Uninterruptible Power Systems and DC Bus is desired.
