Electrical Mechanical Systems Engineer

The Global Engineering Group is responsible for supporting the engineering needs of all the plants in the Machine Clothing division.  These needs include, but are not limited to, building construction/renovation, new/prototype machine design and construction, machine rebuilds, process development/improvement, facility maintenance, machine relocation, commercial equipment procurement and installation.

This position involves global responsibilities and requires a strong mix of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering skills, CAD skills, troubleshooting ability, and project management skills.  This position will be responsible for designing and installing electromechanical systems, equipment upgrades and relocations, assisting maintenance with troubleshooting activities, working with/managing external engineering and construction resources.  Regular travel will be required to support manufacturing sites globally.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design and install electromechanical systems, integrating electrical, mechanical, and software components.
  • Support equipment upgrades and relocations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting activities to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with and manage external engineering and construction resources to ensure project success.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing to validate system performance and reliability.
  • Independent management of projects, project planning, management of new construction and conversion projects .
  • Regularly travel to manufacturing sites globally to provide on-site support and ensure project alignment.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electromechanical engineering and apply best practices to projects.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance system efficiency and performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for global projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations.

SAFETY AND PROCEDURES

  • Promote Albany’s safety philosophy.
  • Verify all safety policies/procedures are being followed by contractors or external resources.
  • Follow all applicable safety policies/procedures.
  • Use appropriate PPE for identified job tasks and insure it is available and being used by subordinate personnel.
  • Attend and participate in all safety training and the safety observation program.
  • Report all safety hazards observed.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma r College diploma r Bachelors Degree Xr Masters degree r Field of Study: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
