Job description

What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for an Engineer - Electrical Hardware Design to join our Electronics & Instrumentation team in Canton, MI. This person would be involved in the design and development of world-class automotive electronics and instrumentation.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Work in a team of engineers on design and development of electrical hardware for automotive electronics and instrumentation.
  • Participate in schematic design and part selection activities.
  • Participate in work planning and risk analysis act ivies.
  • Prepare design calculations, DFMEAs and run simulations.
  • Design Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) using company standards.
  • Conduct design verification testing and prepare engineering reports.
  • Prepare the design documentation for release.
  • Participate in design and manufacturing reviews.
  • Provide support to Test Center to conduct module related investigation during design validation testing.
  • Support investigation of project issues at the board and vehicle levels.
  • Provide manufacturing support during prototype builds.
  • Follow processes, procedures and standards of Quality System in all work activities.
  • Participate in customer meeting as needed.
  • Support new business quotation activities as required.
  • Support customer builds, launches and production at company and customer plants.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Relevant Experience: Proven experience in automotive or equivalent electrical/electronics production design.
  • Embedded Systems: Experience in embedded systems design is preferred.
  • Testing Proficiency: Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment is desired.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation tools.
  • Verification Expertise: Ability to create and review design verification plans.
  • Team Collaboration: A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and mentor others.
  • Multitasking Abilities: Demonstrated capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and procedures.
