The Role:
The Mechatronics Engineer is part of a multidisciplinary team who are responsible for developing and refining products and processes for use in the automated logistics industry. The Mechatronics Engineer is largely focused on programming, but is also engaged in aspects of electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical design. This role requires travel up to 10%, both domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
Core Job Functions Include:
- Willingness to learn controls engineering technology/topics
- Assisting in the programming of PLC software for new product development.
- Creating and maintaining code libraries for standard equipment
- Researching and testing of electromechanical technologies to support Vanderlande products
- Contributing to the definition and documentation of software design guidelines
- Evaluating existing control processes and implementing suggested improvements
- Delivering quality by creating test plans, running risk analyses, and properly testing code
- Participating in hands-on equipment testing to validate functionality

PLC languages (e.g. Ladder Logic, Structured Text)
Industrial Fieldbus (e.g. Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, ControlNet, DeviceNet, ASi, Modbus)
Simulation/Emulation of Equipment
Mechanical & Electrical Design
HMI
Preferred Areas of Experience/Knowledge:
Allen Bradley PLC Platform (Siemens is a plus)
SCADA
Industrial Machinery
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent)
