
Entry-Level Systems Engineer
Job description
Torch Technologies is seeking a Entry-Level Systems Engineer to support the testing of an advanced and complex Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Battle Command System (IBCS) for the U.S. Army. Â This position requires the candidate to support integration and formal test events, perform real-time analysis on system and application logs, and support laboratory operations. Â The candidate may also contribute to test reports and daily briefings. Work is to be performed in a laboratory environment at the Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate (S3I) IAMD G-SIL (Government System Integration Lab) on Redstone Arsenal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform software and system integration in a distributed environment on Linux and Windows based platforms.
- Develop and maintain test plans to support software engineering releases, Formal Qualification Testing, and Acceptance Testing using an Agile Methodology.
- Develop and maintain test cases to support software integration and system integration.
- Analyze and document results of test cases in software and hardware test report documentation.
- Verify and validate system level requirements for Acceptance Testing to support component functionality and development.
- Develop system requirements to support system functionality.
- Support system integration test events both on-site at S3I and at remote test site locations.
- Support testing during normal core hours in addition to occasional overnight and weekend test support.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar technical field from an accredited university.
- Candidate should possess 0-2 years of applicable experience.
- Attention to detail and proficiency in writing and communication is required.
- Computer operating systems and tools the candidate should be familiar with includes Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain is required.
- Up to 10% travel required.
