
Front End Developer
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY: BJU Press recently rebuilt our entire eCommerce platforms and is looking to expand its team. In this role, you will work with designers and subject matter experts in key areas to implement effective user experiences across BJU Press eCommerce platforms. You will maintain and continue to develop best in class websites and work to optimize web speed and navigation for users across mobile and desktop platforms.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Writing website code with programming languages such as HTML, CSS, React, TypeScript and JavaScript
- Producing, maintaining and modifying websites and user interfaces
- Incorporating applications, graphics, audio and video clips into websites
- Creating new website pages
- Ensuring websites are accessible across many platforms, including laptops and smartphones
- Routinely testing websites for ease of use, speed and other quality factors
- Fix any website issues or bugs that arise
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in website programing languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Ability to understand business needs and find technical solutions
- Solution-oriented supported with programming skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize web pages for security and responsiveness
- Ability to monitor customer usage and buying patterns and make recommended site changes to accommodate changes
- Understanding of the implementation of third party scripts and overseeing them
- Understanding of network diagnostics and analytical tools
- (Preferred) background in working with Microsoft Dynamics site builder
