Hardware Engineer
This position is responsible for the entry level design, integration and documentation of Plant Process Computer Systems used in nuclear power plants. This position assists principal engineer in the area of design, documentation, assisting with builds, testing and debug of system hardware acquisition equipment designs to ensure customer requirements are met. This position includes assisting with design of custom adapters/cabling and interfaces to transition existing plant equipment to new state of the art computer equipment. The position also includes assisting with cabinet layout and design incorporated with needed power distribution, network distribution, network equipment, data acquisition equipment and servers which are the primary design components. The position also includes preparation of documentation required by the customer to maintain the system after delivery.
Your Day to Day
• Performs review of hardware design, review in the area of system architecture, network layout, cabinet design, system cabling interface, custom panel and kit design, cabinet power design.
• Perform review of data acquisition designs including interface cabling and custom adapter designs
• Learning and understanding of component selection to meet system needs and contract deliverables.
• Participate in the set-up, system modification and system integration and testing, and delivery of our Projects.
• Understand and implement the quality standards applicable to nuclear safety systems.
• Willing to travel and work with local customers.
Who are you:
The Successful candidate will bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with applicable years’ experience in drawing review and design.
• Minimum 0 -2 years of applicable experience required.
• Data acquisition hardware and software o Entry level knowledge of circuit designs to support custom cables and interfaces.
o Entry level knowledge of Data Acquisition systems consisting of Servers, workstations, controllers, I/O modules or boards.
o Experience with ACAD, 3D modeling.
o Drawing creation and review.
Preferred (not required):
• Experience with Cisco switches.
• Experience with RTP data acquisition systems.
• Experience with Servers and workstations
