
Junior Electrical Engineer
Job description
The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a junior-level Electrical Engineer to provide essential gun weapon systems engineering support to the Self Defense Systems Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center. As a vital member of our highly knowledgeable and experienced team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the capability, supportability, and readiness of Navy fleet gun weapon systems.
Responsibilities:
Engineering Support: Provide entry/junior-level electrical engineering support to the U.S. Navy for all variants of the Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), including Phalanx, SeaRAM, and LPWS.
Collaboration with OEM: Collaborate with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to implement design improvements, develop maintenance requirements, and address obsolescence issues.
Reverse Engineering: Assist in the development of new organic repair and manufacture techniques to reverse engineer existing parts for use in the field.
Test Requirements and Plans: As sist in developing test requirements, updating test plans, and analyzing technical problems related to software and electronics issues.
Field Issue Resolution: Work to resolve complex issues experienced in the field to ensure the CIWS systems operate optimally.
Documentation: Create program reports and review and prepare process documentation to support formalized system changes.
Qualifications:
Required:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Desired:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and other complex technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
