
Mechanical Design Engineer
Job description
THE ANDRITZ GROUP is a globally leading supplier of plants, equipment, and services for hydropower stations, the pulp and paper industry, the metalworking and steel industries, and solid/liquid separation in the municipal and industrial sectors. In addition, ANDRITZ offers technologies for certain other sectors including automation, the production of animal feed and biomass pellets, pumps, machinery for nonwovens and plastic films, steam boiler plants, biomass boilers and gasification plants for energy generation, flue gas cleaning plants, plants for the production of panel boards (MDF), thermal sludge utilization, and biomass torrefaction plants.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 0-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Able to work in a team environment
- Self-motivated with strong ability to learn / adapt
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Major responsibilities are listed but not necessarily limited to the following duties:
- Utilizes CAD software to design new products and make improvements to existing products
- Works with engineering / manufacturing team members to ensure designs are technically and economically feasible
- Creates drawings and engineering specifications for products to be manufactured in Andritz facilities as well as outside vendors
- Travels to customer sites to obtain necessary technical information and measurements for equipment design projects
- Travels to customer sites to assist with installation and provide support
- Travels to customer sites to assist in chip quality testing & consulting
- Create designs in line with company procedure and client standards / regulations
- Provides technical support to internal teams and customers
- Works under the supervision of Engineering Manager
