
Mechanical Engineer
Job description
This position will support our Hill AFB customers by resolving mechanical sustainment issues. Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations, and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
Job tasks may include:
- Creating models and drawings in SolidWorks using AMSE Y14 standards
- ANSYS simulations
- Supporting or leading engineering tasks
- Writing and reviewing technical documentation for installation, testing, or summary reports for engineering deliverables
- Working in lab space for fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products
Required Education/Experience
- Prior experience with an Air Force Program Office is a plus.
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or related degree) from an ABET accredited school.
- The candidate must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Must have the ability to obtain a clearance
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Certified as Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer
- SolidWorks certifications
- Certified in ANSYS or other Finite Element Analysis software
- Familiarity with Air Force systems
- Experience leading projects
- Experience leading technical meetings with customers
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering practices
