Summary

Entry-level professional with broad theoretical job knowledge. Works under general direction and guidance within standard processes for non-routine tasks. Communicates with contacts in own team to explain and interpret information. Contributes to systems and processes changes in work routines. Works to achieve operational targets that impact team results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices

Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval

Analyzes mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.

Investigates solutions to product or process problems

Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects.

Conducts investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications or requirements.

Performs product development activities including parametric CAD modeling, drawing creation, and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Certified SolidWorks Associate

Preferred Skills

  • Certified SolidWorks Professional
  • Machine shop experience and familiarity with hand tools
  • Hands on support of manufacturing
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering and GD&T
  • Additive manufacturing design experience

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.  

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Incumbent must not have ever been denied a DoD Personal Security Clearance

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

  • Ability to site for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. to various heights
  • Ability to work overtime and shifts as needed
  • Ability to travel CONUS
  • Ability to climb stairs
