Job description

Responsibilities

This position will be part of the machine building team that is responsible for design and manufacturing of new and rebuilt machines to support AFS facilities worldwide. The group is responsible for the implementation of projects to upgrade existing equipment and systems, coordinates and supports custom machine building projects and assists in the selection, procurement and installation of our new custom equipment to support AFS manufacturing process. This group also supports the day-to-day operations by acting as a resource for skilled trades and contracted services.The position is located at the Fullerton plant two facility, responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Support assigned plant and provides backup support to other plants
  • Custom design and automation of machines specifically for HFS products
  • Management of tool design and tool documentation
  • Infrastructure support and modernization.
  • Support capital project management
  • Responsible for managing contracted project work.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology from an accredited institution or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Previous mechanical co-op, internship experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automation tool design with aerospace fastener experience
  • Experience with data PARC, LabVIEW or similar
  • Basic Knowledge of Electrical distribution systems
  • Proficient user of SolidWorks and or AutoCAD
  • Experience with industrial robots, Fanuc or other
  • Custom Machine Building and Design
