Job Description And Duties
Under direction of Information Technology Supervisor II (ITS II), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) performs software development and monitoring tasks including maintenance of existing systems and the development of new enterprise software applications on-premises, in the Cloud, and monitor the Cloud environment. The incumbent will be involved in every phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including participation in requirements elicitation, database design, system architecture, software design, systems integration and software quality testing, either to fulfill change requests from the business or as part of new project initiatives. The incumbent will perform technical research and act as a consultant for new and emerging technologies in software development and design in support of the Department of Industrial Relations Strategic Plan.This posting may be used to fill future vacancies in accordance with 2 CCR

This position is located at:1515 Clay St. #403Oakland, CA 94612The Information Technology Specialist I will be required to work in an open-spaced, partitioned office environment, climate-controlled, high-rise office building under natural and artificial light in downtown Oakland, CA, within walking distance of public transportation or remotely as determined by DIR. The incumbent will be required to work 40 hours per week and the normal work schedule will be between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm.Special Requirements
