
Software Engineer
Job description
The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, coding, and testing software programs and applications that enable Associate-facing technologies and capabilities. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The role involves collaborating within and across various teams to ensure the success of technology products. This is a hybrid role, with the associate required to be in the office 3 days a week. All experience levels will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop solutions within various teams, including designing, developing, configuring, and managing applications
- Analyze, design, program, test, and implement systems using the SDLC
- Write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
- Monitor applications, set alerts, and automate administration tasks
- Participate on scrum teams and engage in sprint refinement, daily scrums, sprint planning, sprint demos, and sprint retrospectives
- Identify and help mitigate risks and blockers for the team
- Perform project tasks in a team environment
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced developers.
- Develop technical processes and standards
- Stay current with industry knowledge and technology
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, or an Associate degree with equivalent experience
- Experience with XML/Xpath, SQL, .Net, and object-oriented design/programming
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt thinking to solve problems while maintaining our core development principles
- Ability to work with onsite and offshore teams, operating in a hybrid team model
- Highly motivated, organized, and a self-starter
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Results-oriented
PREFERRED: Â
- Insurance industry experience.
- Experience with Duck Creek software solutions.
- Experience with AzureDevOps (ADO).
