Molex is looking for an enthusiastic and driven student Co-op Software Engineer to join our team. This role provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience developing desktop applications and scripts in Python to support the design and manufacturing of high-speed electrical interconnects. You will work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, gaining exposure to real-world projects, processes, and tools.
As a co-op, you will contribute to meaningful projects while continuing to learn and grow in a supportive environment. This position is designed to accommodate your academic schedule with flexible hours. This role is part-time, year-round and will be located on-site at our Conway, AR location.

You will work within the Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division located in Conway, AR. This role includes close collaboration with internal and external customers, up to senior-level management, exchanging complex engineering and proprietary information.
What You Will Do
- Utilize software expertise and entrepreneurial thinking to address challenges in any area of the business including design, manufacture, test, verification, and more.
- Design and develop Python-based desktop applications to support high-speed interconnect solutions, optimize manufacturing processes, and enhance the engineering design workflow.
- Collaborate with our global manufacturing centers to ensure released software is well supported and issues are addressed quickly.
- Work alongside team members and engineers from other disciplines on software architecture, design best practices, data processing, and Python scripting.
- Track and analyze feature requests, bug reports, etc., to meet and exceed customer needs.
- Contribute to and improve build/test/CI+CD systems to enhance team efficiency and capabilities.
- Evaluate and improve software reliability and performance using code reviews, design reviews, and unit testing.
- Write API and usage documentation for publication internally to support other engineers.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. Degree in Systems/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field.
- Anticipated graduation date between May 2026 & December 2027
- Foundational knowledge of Python programming and familiarity with PyQt for GUI development.
- Completion of relevant coursework in programming, software development, or related areas.
- A strong understanding of software architecture and design.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Previous software development experience (internship, coop, etc.).
- Experience with scientific Python libraries and tools like NumPy, Pandas, and Anaconda.
- Exposure to SQL databases or similar technologies through coursework or personal projects.
- Experience with tools or software related to engineering workflows (e.g., CAD tools or data analysis software).
- Interest in manufacturing processes or the design of hardware systems.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies or group project experience.
