
Software Engineer I
Job description
The Engineer I, Software is an entry-level professional who participates in creating and extending Omnicell products. This person is a software developer who can apply best practices to produce quality applications. This person applies their practical and theoretical knowledge from Computer Science or a related field to maintain our OmniCenter Platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement new features, improve existing functionalities, and ensure the reliability of our software solutions.
‍Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
- Participate in discussions and estimations required for product release planning
- Collaborate with a team of software engineers in all phases of software development
- Assist with code reviews for fellow team members, as required
- Understand how Omnicell solutions meet our customers' needs
- Work with Technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve 4 th level escalations in a timely and professional manner.
Required Qualifications
- Entry level experience in software development:
- Basic understanding of software development principles
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics or other Science/Engineering field
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry level experience in the following:
- C# and the .NET Framework/.NET Core
- JavaScript Frameworks (Angular, React, jQuery)
- SQL Server and T-SQL
- Microservices
- Healthcare Industry Experience
- Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle management
- Understanding of Internationalization / Localization
- Understanding of Inventory / warehouse management
- Object oriented analysis, design, and programming (OOAD, OOP)
- Using design and refactoring patterns
Work Conditions
- Remote role with a high preference for candidates local to the Pittsburgh area
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
Additional Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without Omnicell sponsorship now or in the future
- Ability to pass background and employment verification checks
- Able to work from assigned location without housing or relocation assistance from Omnicell
