Acutronic is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, and test software solutions for our Electro-Mechanical actuators. This internship will provide you with valuable hands-on experience in software development and embedded systems. Our ideal candidate will be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Software Engineer Intern

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of embedded software using C++ 2014 Language for 32-bit microcontrollers.
  • Collaborate with the hardware engineering team for embedded software development.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in accordance with company coding standards.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging software issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance existing products and develop new solutions.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and progress effectively with team members and supervisors.

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with at least two years completed at an accredited college or university
  • Strong academic performance, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in engineering courses
  • Proficiency in C++ programming language.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

These products are used on next-generation aerospace programs and include a range of electric power systems, servo-actuators, micro-turbines, and Hybrid-Electric-Propulsion-Systems. We offer standard products and excel at designing highly customized solutions for demanding mission requirements.
