About our Software Engineer / Programmer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer / Programmer to join our team to develop and maintain software solutions that are key to our business success. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a working knowledge of basic microprocessor electronics and who has experience in writing and debugging embedded “C” code in STM-based systems. Experience with PLC programming in Structured Text and Windows Forms programming with Visual Studio is also important.
Responsibilities
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented software
Debug and troubleshoot issues across various platforms
Proactively communicate plans and project status in code reviews and team meetings
Suggest improvements to continuously evolve software development processes
These are some of the more frequent tasks you could expect to perform during your workday, but you may be called upon to fulfill other duties as needed.

Communication: Ability to interact with peers and managers in a professional manner.
Teamwork: Ability to work cooperatively and efficiently with others to ensure the success of the team as a whole
Working Knowledge: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Visual Studio, GitHub, web search, AI-based research and coding tools and more. Be able to quickly adapt to new software programs.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and think on your feet. Must have excellent organizational and follow-through skills to handle multiple complex tasks within tight deadline parameters
Organizational Skills – Ability to organize and set priorities and execute projects in a predictable and reliable manner.

Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering of equivalent industry experience
Experience with and knowledge of basic electronics, including ability to read and understand a schematic diagram
Proficency with embedded C programming across multiple platforms; experience with FreeRTOS or similar embedded RTOS is highly desired

GDS Corp is a subsidiary of Welker, Inc. This role will work out of the GDS office in League City, TX. This is a full-time, in-office position working Monday-Thursday 7am-4pm, and Friday 7am-12pm. There may be an occasional need to travel to the Welker office located in Sugar Land, TX.
