Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our Substation Engineering team in our Lake Mary, FL office. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

‍Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for physical design for utility scale substations for power delivery, solar, and wind applications. Prepares reports, specifications and drawing packages.
  • Review and approves project submittals, RFIs and supports field activities during construction.
  • Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
  • Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.
  • Minimal travel as possible.
  • Understand the in-office work policy as it applies to this entry-level role.


Required Skills

  • B achelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Effective verbal communicaion and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and check the quaility of own and others' work.
  • Ability to use sound engineering judgement.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing and priortizing with attention to detail(s).


Required Experience

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must.


Preferred Experience

  • EIT/FE certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year is preferred.
  • Experience developing general arragnements, section views, plan views, and associated BOM preferred. Experience completing AC and DC load, voltage drop, and conduit fill calculations preferred. Experience developing equipment and construction specifications a plus.
  • Familiar with applicable codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC)
  • AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting experience a plus.
