Job Summary

Join our OT team and work with cutting-edge, innovative technology to automate drilling equipment, enhancing safety and efficiency in the drilling process. As part of the Nabors Early Career Development (ECD) Program, you’ll fast-track your career with rotational opportunities in high-profile roles within the ACE (Actively Changing Energy) program. Starting as a full-time Systems Engineer, you’ll gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in key areas over the first 12-18 months of employment. Collaborate with various product teams, including Performance, Equipment Controls, Robotics Engineering, Product Design, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineering, to build the expertise needed to contribute to controls and robotic technologies. This role focuses on network and security skills within the Operational Technology (OT) team.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

BS degree in IT, Information Systems or Computer Science

CCNA or equivalent certification

Understanding of Industrial Protocols

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree

Experience in managing OT networks or infrastructure

CCNP or other professional level network certifications

Understanding of DevOps

Behavioral Competencies

Strong desire to learn and ability to be part of a team

Effective communication skills both verbal & written, both 1-1 and group situations

Situational leadership

Time management

Technical Competencies

Strong understanding of network protocols and configuration of switches, routers, and firewalls

Advanced scripting skills in Bash and PowerShell

Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) security measures and protocols

Ability to integrate various OT systems and troubleshoot integration issues

Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform or similar

Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, etc.

Experience with automation and control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)

Proficiency in setting up and managing network monitoring tools

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving network issues

Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

While this position is primarily based in a professional office environment, travel to yards and rigs is essential and required.  

25% travel is expected with valid passport/domestic and international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Act as Systems Engineer with role of designing and developing network and infrastructure for automated machinery based on given requirements and specification.

Network Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer.

Understanding of different network topologies, security standards and system configuration

Network Architecture, Bill of Materials, Operations manuals.

Sustain current rig applications and debugging / fixing issues that are reported in the field. This could be by answering calls and working with technicians, remotely connecting to rig system and troubleshoot, or by traveling to the rig site and working with rig personnel to fix the issue.

Commissioning of new products during deployment.

Maintain product safety in all designs.

Perform design prototyping, including field implementing and testing.

Process workflow and process documentation.
