About Me
Biologist with expertise in protein biochemistry, conservation, environmental sciences and microbiology. My work spans multiple disciplines, from investigating the effects of pollution in ecosystems to advancing screening techniques in drug development. As a mercury technician, I collected extensive environmental samples to track mercury and pollutant levels in ecosystems, supporting efforts to understand the impact of bitumen mining on food chains and the environment. With hands-on experience in molecular techniques like PCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA cleanup, I’ve contributed to impactful research, including investigating immune gene expression in song sparrows and how it may affect population survivorship. My ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in structural biology and biochemical assay development has also supported the exploration of respiratory virus inhibitors. Additionally, I am proficient in data analysis using GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel and R Studio, where I have organized and analyzed large datasets, communicated findings through clear figures, and developed insights to support further research. Furthermore, strong leadership and communication skills developed through diverse roles in research, food services, and caregiving, allow me to adapt and excel in both independent and team environments. I am excited to connect with like-minded professionals and explore opportunities to make meaningful contributions to biological research and related fields!
