About Me
My name is Jordan Yu, and I am an aspiring data scientist with a passion for leveraging machine learning to solve real world issues. I currently work as a Data Science Researcher at the UF SERMOS Lab, where I design and implement machine learning models to predict travel demand during emergency evacuation scenarios. My work focuses on creating data-driven solutions that improve evacuation planning and disaster management, combining advanced algorithms with real-world impact. With a strong foundation in statistical modeling and deep learning, I specialize in data preprocessing and model optimization. I earned my bachelor's degree in Data Science from the University of Florida in December 2024 and have experience working with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow. Outside of work, I enjoy playing musical instruments, running, and competing in table tennis. I am actively seeking opportunities to further his career in data science and machine learning.
