About Me
Hello! I am a senior student at Texas State University pursuing a Bachelor's in General Studies with a focus on Information Systems and Cybersecurity. Through my coursework in network security, computer fundamentals, and IT applications, I have built a strong foundation in technical problem-solving and security analysis. Passionate about the intersection of technology and financial literacy, I have worked with organizations such as Money Fit by Debt Reduction Services and Hope Credit Union to enhance financial education and community outreach. At Money Fit, I conducted quality assurance for financial education webinars and optimized course content, improving efficiency by over 20%. During my time at Hope Credit Union, I established 100+ partnerships and designed financial education workshops, incorporating cybersecurity best practices for online transactions. Recently, I was a Network Support Engineer Intern at Cisco Meraki, where I troubleshoot complex cases involving TCP/IP protocols and OSI model layers across Meraki’s product line. I have analyzed over 200+ customer configurations, providing solutions that optimize network performance. My hands-on experience with Packet Tracer, Wireshark, and Meraki troubleshooting labs has strengthened my ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently. My passion for cybersecurity extends to independent projects, including configuring a Kali Linux virtual environment for penetration testing, completing Google’s Cybersecurity Professional Certification, and leveraging Burp Suite to identify web security vulnerabilities. These experiences have honed my technical skills in risk assessment and security analysis. As a former collegiate basketball team captain, I mentored new team members while balancing academics and athletics, demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and time management skills. I thrive in dynamic, high-pressure environments and enjoy problem-solving in both technical and collaborative settings. I am eager to continue growing in the cybersecurity and networking space while using my skills from previous internships to drive innovation. Reach me at kasyah.sydnor@gmail.com
