About Me
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a focus in Photography and a Bachelor of Science in Radio Television Film from the University of Texas at Austin. During my time at UT, I developed a meticulous eye for print quality, color accuracy, and archival preservation under the guidance of Eli Durst and Alexander Birchler. My coursework and studio practice gave me extensive experience in developing, scanning, color retouching, and composition, skills that I have applied across my work in photography, film, music, and production coordination. As Photography Director for Spark Magazine, I managed complex production schedules and digital workflows, ensuring consistency in file management, image processing, and final deliverables. My role required coordinating with stylists, designers, and photographers to bring editorial concepts to life while maintaining high creative and technical standards. Additionally, as Visual Editor and Curator at Center Space Project, I refined my attention to detail and client communication skills through curating exhibitions, overseeing print publications, and managing artist relationships. Beyond my academic work, I have built a strong professional background in photography, production, and music. As a freelance photographer and producer, I have worked with musicians and artists to create promotional materials, album covers, and documentary projects, including collaborations with Quiet Light, Stalefish, and Nova. My work in music promotion includes photography for The Fader as well as cover designs for multiple albums and singles. Additionally, I worked with the band Photokem, where I recorded violin for their album Luffon Bright and created visual promotional materials for their recorded works. This experience allowed me to combine my background in music with my expertise in visual storytelling, further deepening my understanding of how different artistic mediums intersect. In March 2024, I worked on Stalefish Does America, an album release documentary where I served as an editor, videographer, and photographer. As part of this project, I traveled on tour with the band, assisting them in preparing for shows at venues across Texas while also documenting their journey through video and photography. This experience reinforced my ability to work in fast-paced live event environments, adapt to the logistical demands of touring, and collaborate closely with musicians to bring their creative vision to life. I have also directed and produced documentary and film projects, including Children of the Algorithm, a short documentary exploring digital culture, and Last Days From Home, a photo book and visual project documenting young adults in transition. Additionally, I have experience in film production, working as Director of Photography, Assistant Camera, and Editor on various projects such as Eschaton and Unlearning. After graduating, I was brought on as Assistant Editor at Hubbard Birchler Productions, where I worked on a documentary exploring John Baldessari’s impact at NSCAD in the 1970s. This role enhanced my organizational techniques, file management skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks with precision while fostering an appreciation for how archival materials inform art historical research. My experience in digital asset management, media preservation, and post-production coordination has strengthened my ability to work efficiently in both creative and technical environments. Alongside my creative work, I have eight years of experience in the service industry, where I developed strong skills in customer service, teamwork, and fast-paced problem-solving. I worked as Lead Barista at Mañana in Austin, where I trained staff, managed inventory, and maintained quality control in a high-volume coffee shop. I have also worked as a barista and server at Texas French Bread and Redefined Coffeehouse, roles that strengthened my ability to communicate effectively, manage expectations, and problem-solve on the fly. Since moving to New York, I have been actively seeking opportunities in photography, production, venue operations, and arts administration. I am eager to continue expanding my skills in live event production, working with sound, lighting, and stage operations, while contributing my experience in creative project management, visual storytelling, and team collaboration to a dynamic and innovative work environment.
