Hi, I am Nikhil Namboodiri. As a recent Computer Science graduate from Stony Brook University, I bring a diverse skill set in data science, machine learning, and software development. My passion lies in leveraging data and technology to solve business problems and drive growth. During my academic journey, I have worked on various projects that have honed my technical skills. One of my notable projects, Pixel.ai, involved developing a full-stack Django app for automated image enhancement using deep learning techniques. This project showcased my expertise in TensorFlow, Keras, and computer vision, achieving impressive results in image denoising, colorization, and deblurring. In another project, AutoFiS, I created a full stack Flask app for the automated offline classification of fish species found in India's coastal regions. This project demonstrated my skills in Python, TensorFlow, and Flask, along with multilingual support and centralized catch reporting. I have also gained significant industry experience through various internships. As a Data Analyst intern, I implemented ML models to analyze retail sales data, achieving 92% accuracy in predicting customer purchasing patterns. As a Full Stack Developer intern, I worked on improving the front-end and back-end of the Virtual Labs hosted by IIT Guwahati, leveraging my MERN stack and JavaScript skills. As an ML intern, I performed comparative analysis of lossy image compression techniques using Python, TensorFlow and Keras and published the research study in IEEE. My technical expertise includes Python, Java, SQL, TensorFlow, Keras, Django, Flask, JavaScript, React.js, Node.js and databases like MySQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL. I have also worked with cloud platforms like Snowflake and have experience in data visualization using tools like Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and D3.js. I did collaborate with Harvard Medical School on the Brand Logo Detection for Visually Impaired project. We developed a mobile application to identify brand logos within images or videos, significantly aiding visually impaired individuals. This project involved creating a comprehensive dataset and training models like RetinaNet, MobileNet, and Yolo v5, with Yolo v5 achieving the highest accuracy. I am enthusiastic about exploring opportunities where I can apply my skills in data science, machine learning, and software development to make impactful contributions.
