About Me
I am an American University graduate with a degree in journalism with a minor in business. I was also a sportswriter for my university's newspaper, The Eagle. I am an experienced writer beyond this, as I also have published freelance work and worked under journalists as an editing assistant. My passion for sportswriting intersects with my interest in social justice issues. Some of my work with The Eagle approaches problems in professional sports from an angle of athletes' rights as human beings. I have also developed leadership skills over the years, as I have coached youth basketball and worked as a summer camp counselor. These experiences improved my interpersonal skills and taught me how to convey ideas simply and precisely. I can apply this to a much wider array of situations than just taking care of children, as concise communication helps any workplace operate more efficiently. I hope to provide my writing and communication skills to a productive newsroom, and can use all the experience I can get.
