About Me
I'm Rachel, a senior in the computer science department at Princeton. Over the summer, I've had the opportunity to work with the National Security Innovation Network in Boston, where I developed a website to make communication better and easier for the 10+ organizations under the Department of Defense. There, I was able to professionally develop my skills in web development, as I went through the entire process from design to deployment, interviewing the various representatives from the DoD organizations to get a better understanding of their needs, using Figma to come up with designs, and Gantt Charts to map out the responsibilities and plans between me and the other fellow, then implementing the web tools and features, where I was primarily focused on the front-end development. I've also worked on Organization Near Me, a platform designed to help victims of anti-Asian hate find the nearest support by them, where I lead the front end team and delegated responsibilities as well as designing features and meeting with the representatives of the Vincent Chin Institute . Currently I am also working on my thesis, where I am designing a modular architecture that would allow for the comparison of different large language models in summarizing electronic health records in an attempt to improve health literacy. On campus, I'm also involved with various leadership activities, such as being co-chair of the Yeh College Council, where I've led and organized various initiatives and activities to promote the college residential experience, as well as the communications chair for the Computer Science Council, where I act as a liason between the faculty and students in the computer science department and ensure effective communication. Through these experiences, I've been able to develop a keen sense of design, teamwork, leadership, communication, as well as problem solving and technical skills.
